The challenge was to ensure that the renovation be consistent with the character the existing home. Toward that end, careful documentation of the existing six-over-one double hung windows were made, and then matched in proportion and pattern where appropriate. Certain windows were made single glazed with narrow true divided lite muntins and beveled wood stops to simulate authentic puttied windows.
Master suite is a comfortable light-filled space, which features coved ceiling, fireplace, and access to the veranda. Master bath is sunny and spacious, having an ample shower, which, as the owner requested, is wider than the owner’s outstretched arms.
Kitchen is the gathering place of this home and from the dining area there is a french door open to the veranda where one can look onto the gracious oak tree and garden. The house is now open and flowing from living room through to kitchen, veranda, and garden.
